I can't believe I actually did this! HA! Finnagan looks good in purple doesn't he? Check it out I DID SHADING!!! the apocalypse must be iminent everyone to your bomb shelters!
The band has raven's name on it because I wanted to make it clear this is Raven's hat. The purple tux is because Finnagan has a costume fetish so if he wears that hat he HAD to wear the matching tux. I do apologize for the sucky background I didn't know what to put there.

Raise the hat up some, it's a little too close to his eyes. That's also contributing to a bit of a clutter / cramp feeling in that space where you've got hair, eyes and the brim of the hat. Give that some more space by raising the hat. And with the character being Coyote, I might even have him wear it cocked a little to the side.
I would recommend slightly fewer spikes on the hair. I figure it's supposed to be "messy" hair (based on what I know of the Coyote myths), but with too many spikes, it ends up actually looking like deliberate spikes (like punk-rocker). You'll get more of that messy-hair look by giving it a few curves that lead into a handful of shorter points. And bring the hair down a little further in the back so you can see more of it behind the jaw.
Last thing -- find a reference for the tux, just to straighten up the lines of the lapels at the top.
Again, great job on the facial expression and the cell shading.
I often describe Finnagan as having messy tangled hair but I have to admit I like doing the punk spike look a lot more. I'll experiment and see which one I like better.
I'm probably talking back too much for a critique but I AM taking the ideas to heart. Obviously I didn't look at my reference very well at all.
Thank you so much for this and I'm glad you liked my cell shading. This is actually my first attempt ever. I'm also glad the expresion worked out as I never know where to place those stupid eyebrows. XP
